Breed characteristics of the American Shetland pony

The American Shetland Pony is a far cry from the original Shetland Pony from the Shetland Isles. Just like with almost anything else brought to America, the original Shetland had to conform to American tastes. If you want a small, flashy Hackney Pony, or a large Miniature Horse, then the American Shetland is for you. But if you are looking for a Shetland Pony, be sure it’s not an American Shetland. (Even the so-called “Classic” American Shetland is just an American Shetland).

It wasn’t just moving to the New World that radically changed the chunky, sturdy Shetlands into the American Shetland prima donnas we see today. American breeders took a core breeding group of 75 Shetlands and added a liberal amount of Hackney, small Thoroughbreds and small [ Continue Reading ]

Terrorism: An American Frankenstein?

Frankenstein is the creature made by a mad scientist from dead body parts. The creature is dangerous, scary and violent. The humanoid creature has partial social skills, but lacks appropriate judgment skills, with unpredictable results. Frankenstein represents the evils that come from inappropriate human interference in processes that are the natural purvey of the divine. It represents modern violation of eternal taboos, the taking of forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge.

Since terrorism is the use of terror to promote political, social or other causes, on the face of it, there are the righteous and the evil and the difference is inherently apparent to all with any moral judgment. The Cardio Body Building Fallacy

Most workout programs, in my opinion, are examples of cardio body building and are wrongly based on bodybuilder isolation movement exercises and marathoner extended aerobic training.

This is NOT the path to optimum fitness excellence!

The cardio body building combination is actually the biggest training mistake you can make.

Fuel the Muscles With the Amino Acid L-Alanine

L-Alanine is one of 20 amino acids that are used by the body to manufacture the proteins essential for life. Each protein possesses specific biological properties that are imparted by the sequence of amino acids it contains. Proteins control the chemistry that takes place within the cells of our body, and comprise all of the enzymes that catalyze the body’s biochemistry.

Amino acids are also the building blocks of DNA that determines the genetic make-up of individuals, and that also provides recipes or templates for the production of proteins from amino acid sequences. There is a different DNA template for every protein required by the body that determines which of the 20 amino acids are needed, and in what order they are to be combined with one another to manufacture the [ Continue Reading ]
