What’s Your Body Ideal Weight?

Your ideal weight means different things to different people. For instance, compare a physician’s and a fashion model’s answer to this question and you’ll get quite different answers! So how do you determine your body’s ideal weight? Before we can answer this question we need to look at the standard method used in calculating a person’s ideal body weight.

Body Mass Indicator (BMI)

This is a figure that is calculated by dividing an individual’s body weight by the square of their height. BMI came into use after 1980 when obesity started to become a problem in North America. The body mass index provides a standard way of measuring a person’s relative body density. In other words it measures how fat (or how thin) you [ Continue Reading ]

Winning Golf Tips – Professional Advice to Improve All Aspects of Your Game

Fundamentals

Stance

A consistent position helps develop a consistent swing. A square stance will encourage a square impact. Keep feet perfectly parallel to the target line. If you imagine standing on a train track your feet are against one rail the ball is next to the other. Develop a comfortable standing position with your feet directly below your shoulders with your toes slightly outward facing.

Position the ball 2-3 inches inside the left heel for most shots. If it is too far forward you will be more likely to slice.

Moving one foot slightly forward will enable either fade (outside to inside) or draw (inside to outside). Experiment with the shot direction on how much you move your foot.

Let me put it this way…in a recent muscle magazine, I counted 120 pages of full-page (in some cases 3 to 6 page), high-powered supplement ads. If you were to buy all these products, you’d be laughing all the way to the bank…laughing maniacally, because you’d have to rob it in order to pay for all those supplements!

There ARE good supplement manufacturers who [ Continue Reading ]

Diet Without Exercise is a Recipe For Failure

I think most of us will agree that the human body was not designed for a sedentary lifestyle where our bodies spend the vast majority of time in a non-active state, while at the same time eating modern day chemical mixtures called processed food. No, our bodies were created to live a rugged, active, lifestyle while eating moderate amounts of natural foods.

Though we may not live a rugged lifestyle, we most assuredly live a hurried lifestyle. When it comes to developing a lean, fit, muscular body many people don’t believe they have the time, motivation, or discipline to exercise on a regular basis. Many of these same people however will rationalize that they can lose the weight by way of dieting alone.

There are many diet programs that even make this part of their [ Continue Reading ]
