Marathon training program for beginners

Before you think about running a marathon, it is advisable to do an assessment – a self-assessment that is. Do you have the required discipline, commitment and desire to run and complete a marathon? Are you prepared to participate, in a consistent manner, in the preparation and practice that is required leading up to the run? If you have never run before, it is suggested that you should have run for at least a year prior to starting a marathon run. As a beginner, there are some basics to consider.

A medical check up should be the first thing that you do. It would be wasted time to get halfway through a training program and find out that you shouldn’t have started, or that you required some prerequisite prior to starting. You also need to think about your health and [ Continue Reading ]

Review Of Turbulence Training The Program That Promises Maxium Fat Loss In Minimum Workout Time

Turbulence Training promises fast fat loss results for men and women who don’t have a lot of time for exercise. This is a bold promise, and the workouts promise maximum results in only three workouts per week.

Let’s take a look at this claim, and see if it really measures up!

Before we get to the program, let’s take a look at the expert behind the workouts. I’ve come across Craig Ballantyne’s name many times in popular fitness magazines such as Men’s Health and Men’s Fitness, and even in Oxygen and Shape magazines. It retains the amount of muscle mass that is required to comfortably perform your daily routine — no more and no less. Excess bulk takes a lot of [ Continue Reading ]

Diet success stories

Rather than saying Diet success, healthy living success fits better for me. In January of 1997 I attended a party at which I was the heaviest, out of shape person. The next day, I woke up, called a friend crying and made a commitment to start walking two or three days a week at our local mall after we’d dropped our kids (the ones not in strollers) at preschool.

I had gained weight and kept it with each pregnancy and I was older,(40) when I had my last child. I quit weighing myself but I knew I was over 200lbs. and a size 20. I am 5′6′ and around 150lbs was what I considered my fighting weight. My husband had often commented that I ate as much as a man. He’s just a little mean honest!

Well here’s the story, after 6 months of walking for [ Continue Reading ]
